Founded in 2016 as a campus of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, The Hill is a church community in southeast Austin. On a map, you’ll find it at the intersection of Travis Heights and the East Riverside-Oltorf neighborhood.
Much like our location, The Hill is a community at the intersection. We are hearing and Deaf, longtime Austinites and recent transplants - with different backgrounds, cultures, and stories. We are also a congregation that is part of a bigger parish, sharing staff and resources with our other location on Windsor Road. As the Bible teaches us, we are “one body made up of many members,” held together in the love of Christ.
In addition to church programs, The Hill is home to Hillside Early Childhood Center, with nearly 100 children ages 6 weeks to 5 years served by a play-based curriculum in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

As an Episcopal Church, we are guided by the ideals and worship of our tradition. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God that has something to say to us today. We believe that God gifted us with minds to think, learn, and perceive the Holy Spirit working in the world. And we believe that the Christian tradition, founded by Christ and his apostles and passed down by believers throughout the centuries, is a resource for us in our faith journey.
Every Sunday, we express what we believe as a church in a statement of faith called The Nicene Creed.
Rooted in Christ’s vision of reconciliation, mutual care, and love of neighbor, The Hill is a beacon of God’s love in southeast Austin.
The Hill developed a strategic plan in 2025 that will continue to guide us until 2030. Each goal is rooted in Scripture, along with the prayer and discernment of the congregation. Our priorities include inclusive and accessible worship and formation; deepening church family; expanded community engagement; and strengthening organizational partnerships.
